Check out my backstage interview with Kris Allen, winner of American Idol Season 8. Kris Allen was a 24 year old contestant from Jacksonville, Arkansas when he tried out for American Idol. His big break came when he auditioned as part of Season 8 in Louisville, Kentucky. After just a few performances which propelled him into the Top 12, Kris quickly became one of the favorites to win the show. By the end of the season Kris Allen had made it to the finale, where he faced off against the season’s long standing front runner Adam Lambert. After their final performances and over 100 million total votes were registered, Kris Allen was declared the winner of American Idol Season 8 by less than one million votes.
