Using A Soft Glasses Case For Protection

For as long as glasses have existed, most people never utilize the case they are given at the optometrist. Most only take their glasses off when they go to sleep. Many are now having to remove their glasses in order to see their computer screens. This is when scratches begin to happen on the glasses. Using a soft glasses case can prevent those scratches.

Most wish that they had listened about using the case when they were a kid. Now it has become a costly mistake. If they had just used a case in the first place they could have used that money on something other than new glasses.

Several people have a pair of sunglasses inside the car that they use when they are driving. They normally stay above the visor but occasionally they will be taken away from the car That is what makes most think to get more than one case.

The nice thing about using a softer case is that is can be put in a pocket without it being bulky. The soft interior of the cover protects a pair of glasses from scratches. Most of the time a scratch is created by keys in a pocket.

Three cases seems to do the trick. Keep one at the office for when taking the glasses off to see the computer. Then also have one on at nightstand just in case you remember to take them off before you go to sleep. The third case should be kept in the car.

Unfortunately, needing another pair of glasses because of scratching can be expensive. Using a soft glasses case from now on should prevent any scratches on the next pair. Probably also get some glasses cleaner and a soft cloth. It has been noted that when cleaning glasses on a shirt it will leave scratches also.

A soft glasses case is ideal to prevent scratches on glasses. More info now in our exclusive glasses case overview.

What You Should Know About Acuvue Oasys Contact Lenses

Johnson & Johnson manufactures the Acuvue brand of contact lenses. This brand includes the Acuvue Oasys, Acuvue Advance, Acuvue 2, and 1-Day Acuvue lenses. Acuvue lenses use a patented technique called HYDRACLEAR which keeps the lenses moist and comfortable by blending in a silicon wetting agent.

All the different models of Acuvue lenses can be prescribed for near or farsightedness. The Acuvue 2 COLOURS, which has ten available colors, is used for changing or enhancing eye color. It does not correct vision.

With the Oasys lenses you may choose one of two replacement schedules. First, you can take them out and clean them on a daily basis for up to two weeks before replacing them with fresh lenses. You can also continuously wear them for up to six nights until trading them for a fresh set of lenses. The Acuvue Advance are replaced after two weeks of daily cleaning. You can wear the Acuvue 2 continuously for as long as six nights before using a fresh pair or you can go for two weeks with daily cleaning before using a fresh pair of lenses. As its name indicates, the 1-DAY Acuvue are worn for only 1 day and then thrown away to be replaced with a fresh pair.

The Oasys family of lenses provide excellent ultraviolet light protection. The Acuvue Oasys is rated at Class I UV protection with 96% UV-A and 100% UV-B radiation. The Acuvue Advance contacts also has a Class I UV rating with 93% UV-A and 99% UV-B radiation. The Acuvue 2 and the 1-Day Acuvue have Class II UV ratings with 82% UV-A and 97% UV-B radiation.

Silicone hydrogel is the main material used in making Acuvue lenses. Silicone hydrogel make your lenses feel smooth, moist and comfortable. Using senofilcon A the Oasys model allow 98% of available oxygen to be provided to the eyes. The Acuvue Advance uses a similar material called alyfilcon to allow 97% of available oxygen to be passed to your eyes. Etafilcon A is used in both The Acuvue 2 and 1-DAY Acuvue. It allows 88% of available oxygen to be passed to your eyes.

Another important factors for providing comfortable wear are keeping the lens wet and smooth. The Oasys lenses use the next generation of HYDRACLEAR technology called HYDRACLEAR PLUS. HYDRACLEAR PLUS embeds a higher volume the wetting agent. This makes the Oasys lenses work well in a variety of environments, outside or inside. HYDRACLEAR PLUS increases the smoothness of the lenses. Blinking is very smooth. You can’t feel the contact lenses at all. The Oasys Advance use the first generation of HYDRACLEAR.

The LACREON technology is used in the 1-DAY Acuvue MOIST. The LACREON is similar to HYDRACLEAR. It also embeds a wetting agent but it adds a wet cushion as well. This cushion mimics tears which greatly reduces friction and maintains moistness.

All the lenses in the Acuvue family are easy to handle. They are tinted a slight blue in order to make them visible when they are in their lens case. Inserting the lenses is made easier with a 1-2-3 mark.

There are special versions of Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism and for presbyopia. The Acuvue Advance also comes in a model for astigmatism. With all the different types and feature of Acuvue contact lenses no matter what your vision needs Acuvue will work well for you.

Coastal Contacts is a premiere online retailer of contact lenses including Acuvue oasys for antistigmatism and colored lenses. Offers the widest selection of contact lenses for huge savings online.

Considering Lasik Surgery? Know Which Type of Lasik to Choose

Do you wish you didn’t have to keep using glasses and contact lenses? If so, then Lasik surgery may be exactly what you’re looking for. It is a type of vision correction surgery for the eye using laser technology. The word ‘Lasik’ is the abbreviation of the phrase ‘laser in situ keratomileusis’. In this procedure, a laser is used under the flap of the cornea. The shape of the cornea is changed as per the requirement. eye sight and refractive complications are addressed with this surgical process.

An excimer laser is used in lasik surgery. This is created by Bausch and Lomb, Alcon, Visx, Wavelight, Nidek and others. There are a few types of lasik surgeries including a conventional laser treatment, a wavefront optimized treatment and a wavefront guided procedure.

The conventional laser procedure is the most commonly used eye sight correction process. The amount of correction incorporated into the procedure is incorporated relative to the eye glasses prescription of the person undergoing surgery – careful parameters are taken into account prior to the procedure. It is a wildly chosen option for eye sight correction even though it has some side effects. These oftenrange from glare to night vision.

The wavefront optimized LASIK treatment is done with a new wavelight laser technology. Apart from the eye sight issues that can be addressed with the traditional laser treatment, this one can help fix more serious issues. Corneal curvature and thickness can be measured easily. The laser is used in conjunction with the eye area. It amazingly eliminates the typical problems of the conventional surgery.

The custom Lasik procedure (or the wavefront guided treatment) identifies severe optical irregularities before the procedure is performed. To do this, the surgeon uses wavefront technology. This technology is also involved in the procedures of traditional laser techniques.

Like all surgical procedures Lasik surgery does have some risks and complications which you should learn about and be prepared for. There is a possibility of over-correction or under-correction. You might still need to use eye glasses or lenses. Impermanence of the results might happen. There can also be deviations in your vision. Worst chances are you might even lose your vision.

Though there could be problems, this surgical procedure is thought to be very safe. The procedure’s accuracy level is extremely high for the correction of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. It needs much less time and the hospital stay is minimal. The surgery is not painful. Most of the time, a single procedure totally resolves the eyesight issue. It also makes it more comfortable to see and sometimes also improves your eye sight.

Prior to selecting Lasik surgery, you must become aware of a few things. You must know your individual amount of refractive error, the available solutions or options, and the kind of laser that will be used. You should have have a check of your corneal shape, corneal curvature, corneal thickness, vision stability and age. Also be aware of your pupil size, the dryness of your eyes, previous incidents of vision correction and any prior record of medical or vision problems.

Be mindful and do appropriate research when deciding on your doctor. He or she should be experienced, well respected in his specialty, and have access to the most advanced techniques and machines. He or she should be available post-surgical procedure in case of potential problems or issues.

Lasik surgery is a good surgical process option for the correction of your eye sight. Consider the things discussed earlier and you will be better prepared to talk about this surgery with your eye doctor to decide if a particular treatment is right for you.

Important considerations like safety, lasik eligibility and lasik cost should be carefully researched before you undergo LASIK surgery. Visit LasikSurgeryServices.com to learn more.
