Check out my backstage interview with Kris Allen, winner of American Idol Season 8. Kris Allen was a 24 year old contestant from Jacksonville, Arkansas when he tried out for American Idol. His big break came when he auditioned as part of Season 8 in Louisville, Kentucky. After just a few performances which propelled him into the Top 12, Kris quickly became one of the favorites to win the show. By the end of the season Kris Allen had made it to the finale, where he faced off against the season’s long standing front runner Adam Lambert. After their final performances and over 100 million total votes were registered, Kris Allen was declared the winner of American Idol Season 8 by less than one million votes. Kris Allen made it to the finale and faced off against front runner Adam Lambert. More than 100 million votes were registered before Kris Allen was declared the winner by less than one million votes. Soon after winning, Kris Allen signed to JIVE Records and released his debut single No Boundaries, which debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200. His debut full length full length was then released on November 17th, 2007, featuring his first his single Live Like We’re Dying.
